Young Girls Camping Weekend

made possible by the Outbase community

WE DID IT! We’ve just returned from an incredible weekend with 20 inspiring young women, selected in partnership with the Anne-Bo Foundation. Many of these girls carry heavy life stories, yet they showed up as the bravest, sweetest, and brightest group we could have wished for.

Our adventure began on an uninhabited island, accessible only by rowboat! After setting up camp (a first for almost everyone), we kicked off a hands-on workshop in compass reading and fire making, using the compass as a metaphor for finding direction in life. The evening brought deep conversations around the campfire, where everyone shared meaningful stories before stargazing together.

Sunday morning started with a silent breakfast in the sun, followed by a breathwork session and the famous ice bath. Despite the nerves, 19 girls braved the ice while everyone cheered them on, the energy was electric!

The group chat hasn't stopped buzzing since, and we're already looking forward to our reunion.

We are endlessly grateful to everyone who helped make this happen, with a special thanks to the donors of the Outbase community and team.

This weekend proved once again how powerful it is to give young women a safe space to connect, grow, and swap screen time for green time.

“ I never thought I could live without my phone for 24 hours, but I managed and it felt really good.”

”This weekend was truly special for me. It was the first time I went camping on my own and slept outdoors, away from home. I really enjoyed being in nature, the peace and quiet, and the sense of togetherness with the other girls. I can tell that the weekend really had an impact on me.”

”I feel calmer, my mind feels clear, and at the same time I have new energy. I’ve also realised more than ever that I need to make time for myself. I’m really glad I came!”
